Buttondown is pretty cool

I’m researching email stuff for the incoming Set Studio newsletter: The Index.

What I’m after is something that just does email and can be operated from afar. The reason for this is that The Index will be web first. Essentially it’ll be a blog category that users can subscribe to with RSS or email. Therefore email is very much a second class citizen in this case.

Buttondown has been on my radar ever since I was running the Piccalilli Newsletter (RIP). This was a few years ago now though and it looks like Buttondown has come along loads.

The killer feature for me: Buttondown will take an RSS feed then automatically slurp up the content (in their words) and then send it to our subscribers. Job done.

They seem like a good company too, so I’d say this is a winner.
